Second Day. [video/action for goldenrod.]
[Keisuke is woken up by something rather...interesting. It's not an alarm, a voice, or even a Pokemon.
It's a tinny, electronic tune. Doo do doo doo doo doooo~
...What.
He picks up the gear, staring intently the the screen because now he's awake for sure.]
~*~Happy 18th Birthday Keisuke Takagi~*~
[Oh. May 2nd. He guessed it really was his birthday--which makes the next thing that pops up on the screen all the more disheartening. Happy Birthday, Keisuke! Here's a mission to do for the evil organization you've been placed in.
It isn't until later in the afternoon, when he's finished driving around (somewhat poorly and noticeably by a certain intelligent woman in red.) and piling up garbage for the day, that turns on the video function. He's looking a bit tired, with a smear of grimy dust on his cheek and bruises along his arm from an overenthusiastic Shellder. Keisuke's back in plainclothes and sitting on a bench somewhere in Goldenrod.]
Worst birthday ever almost seems like an understatement. Doesn't even feel real...
Hey, Atsuro. Are you busy?

Hey, Atsuro. Are you busy?
[voice]
It certainly appears so. Have you not rested even once?
[voice]
[voice]
[Even though he can tell that's not exactly the whole truth. Nevertheless, subject change.]
...What does it mean to have a "birthday"?
[To humans, at least. He already knew what it was in theory, but a human perspective would be much more interesting.]
[voice]
[So, the Anguished One had seemed a bit like a curious, deep thinker. This simple question throws Keisuke off a little, even if he's sure it's not just a face value type of inquiry.
He is forever suspicious of what you say.]
A day that marks the passing of another year, making you that much older?
[...Did he get it right?]
[voice]
[Well he knew that already. But then again, a year was probably a big deal to humans. Him, not so much.]
[voice]
Others might not care, or even hate it, depending on how old they are. Everybody wants to grow up until they get to be grown up.
[Keisuke's not entirely sure how he himself feels about birthdays. They were certainly a bigger deal for him when he was a little kid and his parents played into the hype.]
[voice]
...Do you normally enjoy these occasions?
[voice]
[voice]
Mm...I'm sorry to hear that.
