[Keisuke's not really feeling up for too much talking, given his situation, but he feels the need to take care of some basic business between his Rocket training seminars, etc.]

I've already figured out that this isn't a dream. Though it may not seem normal, the universe itself makes too much sense for that. Knowing that doesn't solve my problem, though...

Why am I here? Is there a way to get back home so I can finish something I need to do?

...If anyone knows Atsuro Kihara, Midori Komaki, or any of their friends, I would appreciate it if you'd tell me. I can't be the only one here, after all.

Kihara-kun would be better equipped to tell you that, I believe — and he's still here, so I imagine he'll turn up to speak with you himself anytime now. Checking this network with high frequency gets to be a habit before long, here.

Though presumably, if she did leave Johto, then she's returned to whatever immediate circumstances she left upon arriving here. Rumor has it that we return to the moment of our departure as though we'd never been gone at all.

I guess I'll just have to wait...

Let's just say that she has a habit of getting herself into trouble at times... Though I guess I shouldn't really talk.

I recall her as being quite capable, personally. She once rescued my junior from dire straits in a cave. We were all rather indebted to her for that.

Yes, Midori is incredibly capable--probably even moreso than me. But I still think she takes unnecessary risks at times. I'm glad she was able to help you and your friend, though.

Not as glad as I am. Occasionally irritating though he might be, I much prefer him alive and well, as opposed to dead in a cave.

I'm sure. There are very few people who would deserve that fate.

In any case, even without Komaki-san's presence, I'm sure you'll soon be receiving the usual welcoming speech from any number of helpful people turning up to respond to your question. There are few better ways of garnering attention here than suggesting you're a new arrival.

So the majority in Johto are fairly friendly, then, I'm assuming.

How often do these new arrivals pop up?

They're forthcoming, at the very least. Some have a better grasp of manners than others. But it seems to be something of a rite of passage, initiating the newcomers to this strange new world.

Fairly frequently. Several times a month, I believe.

No two people are the same, as they say. I'm sure other newcomers appreciate it, though--I know I'm grateful for it. Everyone's been fairly helpful.

So they are about as random as those who return to home?

No. Sometimes this place demonstrates a surprisingly cruel sense of humor in who it chooses to bring and take away.

Perhaps it's fate. That's very hard to fight, after all.

Is this place really responsible, though? No one has given a real explanation for appearances/disappearances, other than to blame Johto.

That's because no one has an explanation. There have been trends to the arrivals and departures — sometimes unsettling ones — but no one has ever been able to say why or how.

[It takes a while for Keisuke to fully process this. When he does reply, it's pretty simplistic.]

That's fairly unnerving.
