Yeah, Johto's real big on irony. "Oh, it's Christmas? Guess your best friend is gonna go missing for two weeks." You kind of get used to Johto trying to ruin your life after a while. Doesn't mean it doesn't still suck, but you'll learn very quickly that nothing is sacred here.
