[Keisuke's not really feeling up for too much talking, given his situation, but he feels the need to take care of some basic business between his Rocket training seminars, etc.]

I've already figured out that this isn't a dream. Though it may not seem normal, the universe itself makes too much sense for that. Knowing that doesn't solve my problem, though...

Why am I here? Is there a way to get back home so I can finish something I need to do?

...If anyone knows Atsuro Kihara, Midori Komaki, or any of their friends, I would appreciate it if you'd tell me. I can't be the only one here, after all.

They're forthcoming, at the very least. Some have a better grasp of manners than others. But it seems to be something of a rite of passage, initiating the newcomers to this strange new world.

Fairly frequently. Several times a month, I believe.

No two people are the same, as they say. I'm sure other newcomers appreciate it, though--I know I'm grateful for it. Everyone's been fairly helpful.

Yes. Atsuro Kihara mentioned his use of the Demon Summoning Program and I inquired about his mentor afterwards. That is all.

Does Atsuro consider you a friend? Or was it simply an exchange of information?

[It's okay, he understands. It wasn't surprising that many people would be bitter about demon summoning. Not gonna mention anything about the death image site at this rate. Anyway, there's another noticeable pause.]

It was at first an exchange of information, but now I don't know. We have spoken some times, and I have received a "nickname" from him. Would that be enough for him to consider me a friend?

[As inhuman he was, he could feel a rather wide range of emotions, including fear. Fear of rejection especially, and his canon point is not helping either.

Can I ask... how she is? In your timeline? Sometimes people come from different points in time, so... I just want to know if she's okay...

Is this place really responsible, though? No one has given a real explanation for appearances/disappearances, other than to blame Johto.

[Lockdowns and demons aren't particularly reassuring... But the way Wally phrases it makes Keisuke wonder of this boyfriend of Dolly's knows what's going on, back home.]

She's safe, at the moment. I'm afraid I don't know what will happen tomorrow, though, I'm sorry. ...Or what would have been tomorrow, I guess, now that I'm here.

Keisuke pauses as he thinks about it.]

Atsuro is pretty fond of nicknames, so it's hard to say. I doubt he would have given you one if he considered you an enemy, or had some other negative relationship with you, though.

Do you consider him a friend?

I suppose so, though I do not possess much experience with having friends.

[The hug surprised him. He's not the most affectionate kind of guy with his friends. A shoulder pat, arm around the shoulder, those things? Alright. A hug? It's closer than he's used to.

But goddammit, who cares? Keisuke seems relieved.]

...Don't worry about it. I'll be here as long as it takes. [It's a risky promise, he knows this. What if Johto sent him home and leave Keisuke behind?] And I won't leave this world without you.

That's because no one has an explanation. There have been trends to the arrivals and departures — sometimes unsettling ones — but no one has ever been able to say why or how.

[...Yeesh. Keisuke didn't have many friends in life, either--he was more 'protector' in middle school than 'friend' to most--but he still knew when he considered someone his friend.]

Do you have an opinion on the subject one way or another? If he didn't consider you a friend, would you care?

[Keisuke shifts away again, taking a deep breath to collect himself. He knows by now that Atsuro really isn't in any position to stick to that promise, but he is glad to hear it be made, anyway. Clearing his throat, the teen switches back to being fairly reserved.]

Keisuke's next question is fairly awkward. He's not used to having bundles of free time, and even if he knows he'll need to return to Team Rocket at some point, he wants to be out and about as much as possible.]

What do you want to do now?

[It takes a while for Keisuke to fully process this. When he does reply, it's pretty simplistic.]

That's fairly unnerving.

Yeah, I've been here sixteen months now, and others are nearing their two year anniversary. Unfortunately, despite being here for that long, we still don't know how it's possible. There's not a single lead.

[He actually don't know. Atsuro wasn't expecting to see his friends in Johto again, but he did play around with the thought. Imagined all the things they could do if they're together again. But now that Keisuke's here, he's at a lost.

Before we can do anything, you should have gotten a starter. Which Pokemon did you start off with?

I wouldn't worry too much about her. She's a tough girl with a good heart. Even if she gets in any trouble, then our friends will take care of it.

[Oh right... Pokemon. There had been two Pokeballs set out for him with his uniform, as well as some empties in the bag. Keisuke finds the two, opening them up. He hasn't taken the time to find out what types he's received himself, to be honest.]

These two, I guess...

[The Shellder doesn't move much--he seems to be watching--but the Ekans let's out a friendly hiss before slithering to investigate the two teens.]
